Great event today as ever. Like the new course too. Thanks to everyone involved at the Huncote Harriers the event does you great credit. One question will it be held in January every year from now on or will it revert back to its usual date next year? Thanks again.

Thanks for your kind comments Coyley. Glad you enjoyed it.
As you know, we usually hold it on the last Sunday of the year, but this year that was the day after Boxing Day. As Barrow hold a race on Boxing Day we didn't know if people would run 2 races in 2 days so put it back a week.
We haven't looked at next years date yet but will probably revert back.

Well done with your event today and for putting it on with some pretty inclement conditions. My club mate Adam Taylor was pretty crestfallen when his result was declared null and void. If he had through either dishonesty or stupidity taken the wrong course today he would be totally accepting of the decision. However he informs me that he at all times followed marshals instructions and as such both himself and the second placed athlete went with what information was provided to them. Little more to say really except you can be sure he will be totally pumped up for Saturdays county XC

David Thanks for your message. We are very sorry Adam and David went off course through no fault of their own. We thought we had all sections well marked, the whole course being checked only an hour before the start. We also had over 25 marshals out today, more than normal due to the adverse conditions. All were given clear instructions, or so we thought. We are just grateful that these were the only two to go wrong. I'm afraid it's just one of those things that happen from time to time and hope that you will not hold it against us. Best of luck for the County XC Graeme Chairman

Graham thanks for the candour and sincerity of the reply. I klnow Adam was upset as it would have been a first win if everything had been equal but these things happen as they say. Onwards & Upwards
